Ordering Directed Donor Specimens

We only ship specimens directly to a physician's office. We do not ship specimens to a patient's home. Prior to ordering specimens for the first time the directed donor specimens must be quarantined for a minimum of 6 months or 180 days from the date of his last specimen that they banked.  The directed donor must return to our facility to get his repeat sexually transmitted disease panel repeated.  Once the results are reviewed by International Cryogenics, Inc medical directors and deemed elligible for transplantation we will then send copies of all results to the receipient and the physician utilizing the specimens for final approval.  When ICI receives signed approval from the recipient and the physician then the specimens can be released for use.

Specimens can be shipped to physicians anywhere in the United States after all required testing and paperwork has been completed.  Specimens are shipped in liquid nitrogen shipping canisters that keep them at the optimal temperature for up to 7 days from the date they leave our facility.

The person that banked their sperm is the only person that can authorize release of the specimens to a designated physician.  If the the specimens were banked for a known recipient. They will sign documents giving the recipient the right to ship and utilize the specimens after all testing and paperwork has been completed.  We require 2 weeks notice for the first withdrawal of the specimens.  If the directed donor changes their mind and no longer wishes for their banked specimens to be utilized or released we will honor their request regardless of who was financially responsible for paying for the sperm banking, testing and storage fees.

In the event of the directed donors demise, ICI will be unable to release the stored specimens unless they are willed to a named receipient.  If the directed donor does not have a will a signed notarized document stating their wishes to release their frozen semen specimens to a named recipient in the event of their demise will be accepted but only if all post 180 day testing and paperwork has beencompleted.
